We desire to reflect the communities in our region which based on research consists of multicultural areas (Hispanic, Black/African, Caribbean, Indian and Asian Pacific populations), socio-economic diverse neighborhoods, individuals with varying abilities, small-town areas, as well as metropolitan areas. our goal is to reflect the Kingdom of God in our leadership, staff, and volunteers.
As the Heartland Region we desire an authentic culture of Belonging where all individuals are able to bring their full selves to work, where they feel heard and understood, and they fit where they are called. We desire to accomplish this by creating a space of learning and not fear, learning to be approachable and receive feedback when needed. our goal is to protect our environment of belonging by holding each other accountable for the greater well being of our community and not just our own through evaluations.
That every individual is provided with the resources, opportunities, professional development, and advancement to ensure all staff and volunteers are on an equal footing. To ensure this we are evaluating our onboarding, recruitment, retention processes, documents, and funding. Our hope is to make all opportunities attainable by all. We will continue to identify and eliminate barriers that get in the way of some groups.
